How to use Trading

Use the same Rips & Pulls account on the store and Trading hosts. You can browse public member profiles without signing in, but you must be signed in and have a verified account to maintain lists, send requests, message members, or participate in a trade workflow.

  1. Complete your profile. Open Community Profile to choose your public profile visibility and add information other collectors can use.
  2. Build your lists. Open My Lists and describe the cards or products you have available and the items you want.
  3. Find people. Browse Community, review a member's trading page, and read their preferences and feedback.
  4. Start carefully. A trade request opens a private negotiation room where both members can clarify the exact item, condition, language, quantity, shipping terms, and timing.

02 / Organize

Have and Want lists

Your lists are text-based trading notes, not a verified inventory system. They help other collectors understand what you may offer and what you are looking for.

What I have

List cards or products you may trade. Include the card name, set, number, condition, language, quantity, and any important details. Keep the list current when an item is no longer available.

What I want

List exact cards or sets you are seeking, including preferred condition, language, and acceptable alternatives. Specific terms produce more useful matches.

Trade preferences

Use your introduction to explain shipping preferences, condition standards, trade values, locations, languages, or other expectations. Do not put private addresses or payment details in a public list.

Open My Lists to edit your information. Use Preview public page from that screen to see what other members can view under your privacy settings.

03 / Discover

Trade matching

Find Trades compares terms in your Have and Want lists with active, visible member profiles. It can show two useful directions:

  • They may have what I want: words from your Want list appear in another member's Have list.
  • They may want what I have: words from your Have list appear in another member's Want list.

Matches are suggestions based on text terms, not guaranteed card matches, valuations, availability, or an offer to trade. Review the other collector's trading page, confirm the details directly, and use the filters to narrow results. You can hide a match when it is not useful; hiding it does not block the member.

04 / Protection

How the automated trade workflow works

The workflow automates the sequence, deadlines, notifications, and record keeping for an accepted trade. It does not authenticate cards or guarantee delivery, and staff verification remains part of the process.

  1. Negotiate first. Use the conversation to ask questions, discuss condition, and send counteroffers. Each offer is a clear snapshot of what each person is offering and requesting.
  2. Accept a formal offer. The other trader can accept, decline, or counter the current offer. Only an accepted formal offer starts the protected trade workflow under My Trades.
  3. Shipment order assigned. The platform uses the workflow's trust information to determine who ships first. The first participant receives a shipment deadline; the other waits for the verified step.
  4. Submit evidence. When it is your turn, open the workflow and provide the carrier, tracking number, shipping label, and package evidence. Uploads are limited to the file types and size shown on the form and are stored for staff review.
  5. Staff verification. Staff review the submitted shipment evidence. If it is verified, the workflow advances to the next shipment or to receipt confirmation. If something is missing, follow the notification and workflow instructions.
  6. Confirm receipt. After the other shipment arrives, open the workflow, confirm that you received it, and add optional notes. Both participants must confirm receipt before the workflow is completed.
  7. Finish and give feedback. Completed trades appear in trade history. Each participant may leave one honest feedback review after completion.

Open My Trades to see active requests and history. Open a workflow to view its status, timeline, deadlines, shipment evidence, receipt actions, and complaint form.

Trading and community rules

Trading rules

  • Offer only items you own or have the lawful right to transfer.
  • Describe condition, authenticity, language, quantity, set, and defects honestly.
  • Agree in writing on the exact items, packaging, shipping method, costs, deadlines, and acceptable alternatives before shipping.
  • Package items responsibly, use accurate tracking, keep receipts, and submit the evidence requested by the workflow.
  • Confirm receipt promptly and use the workflow complaint process when a serious problem occurs.
  • Do not send counterfeit, stolen, prohibited, materially misrepresented, or unsafe items.

Community rules

  • Be truthful, respectful, and relevant. Do not harass, threaten, scam, impersonate, spam, or manipulate ratings or reports.
  • Do not post doxxing, private addresses, payment credentials, government identifiers, malware, sexual exploitation, or non-consensual intimate material.
  • Do not pressure someone into a trade, evade a block or suspension, or move a trade off-site to avoid the site's safety process.
  • Only share images and text you have the right to publish. Respect other members' privacy and boundaries.

These rules supplement the Terms of Service. Moderators may remove content, limit features, pause workflows, restrict accounts, or take other action when needed to protect the community.

07 / Safety

Reports, complaints, and safety checks

Before trading, review the Safety Directory. A directory entry reflects a moderator-confirmed community report, not a guarantee that every issue has been discovered or a judgment about every interaction with that member.

For a problem with an active workflow, open that workflow from My Trades and use Report an issue with this trade. Include a factual timeline and relevant evidence. Shipment evidence and identifying details are for staff review and are not ordinary public content.

For a problematic post, comment, message, or member, use its report control or the member's report option. Do not retaliate, threaten, publish private information, or attempt to resolve a safety issue by escalating it publicly. Watch Notifications for staff updates.

Need help? Keep your tracking numbers, receipts, screenshots, and agreed terms. Never send passwords, payment credentials, or private account recovery codes to another member or to staff through a trade message.
